Mr Chris Fisher, M.Sc., P.Biol. is a Senior Wildlife Biologist with over 30 years of consulting experience with industry and government in Alberta. He has worked on all aspects of wildlife biology but is best known as a bird biologist with expertise in breeding bird surveys, sensitive species surveys, renewable surveys and permitting, and leading nest sweeps programs. He has experience with all sensitive species survey protocols, led wildlife mitigation programs for several SARA - listed species, and site-specific mitigation plans for sensitive species including Ord’s Kangaroo Rat and Short-horned Lizards. Chris has written and contributed to numerous environmental field reports, conservation and reclamation reports, biophysicals, wildlife and environmental protection plans.
Mr Fisher is perhaps best known in Alberta as the author of a series of best-selling natural history books including “Birds of Alberta”, “Mammals of Alberta”, and “Reptiles and Amphibians of Canada” and as a regular media contributor to nature and conservation issues in Alberta.
